Community Celebration Day at the Cove Civic Centre

It has been over 20 years in the planning, but the new Hallett Cove community centre and library (to be known as the Cove Civic Centre) will open its doors for the first time on Monday 27 July 2015!

To celebrate this wonderful new facility, the City of Marion is hosting a Celebration Day on Saturday 1 August.

The day will kick off at 11.00 am with the cutting of the ribbon ceremony and festivities will continue throughout the afternoon with free activities including face painting, balloon twisting, a sausage sizzle, art workshops and games. It will also be a great chance to see and enjoy this new facility.

When: Saturday 1 August 2015, 11.00 am – 4.00 pm

Where: Cove Civic Centre, 1 Ragamuffin Drive, Hallett Cove

What is the Cove Civic Centre?

The Cove Civic Centre is home to a library with a collection of 35,000 books, e-books, and DVDs; flexible community rooms which open out into a large meeting hall; an enterprise centre with specific support available for local businesses; and an outdoor community plaza.

The vision of the centre is to provide the community with a facility that is flexible and can support a diverse range of activities, to provide meeting spaces for people to connect for learning and recreation pursuits and to support local businesses with their endeavours.

It has been exciting to watch this project come together during my time on council and since entering State Parliament and I look forward to joining many community members as a user of the centre when it opens.

Hallett Cove Business Association

The Hallett Cove Business Association (HCBA) are a group of like-minded people, passionate about supporting and growing local business. Hallett Cove is home to businesses from a variety of industries and I have no doubt that there is demand for a business community of this nature in our local area.

The aim of HCBA is to connect businesses via networking events, training opportunities and via a website and an online business directory, which can be found at www.hallettcovebusinessassociation.com.au.
