Our first forum for the year is on the topic of Dementia Prevention with an expert guest from Alzheimer’s Australia coming to speak on this topic. Their presentation will look at brain health and ways to prevent dementia and we will also hear from someone who is living with dementia. Those who have attended our forums before will remember that we had a session on dementia friendly communities in 2014. This forum will build on this previous presentation and include a lot of new material. Due to the recent change of state electoral boundaries, Corey Wingard and I will be jointly hosting this forum as our electorates have, in essence, been combined into two new seats called Black and Gibson. We will explain these changes to you in more detail at the forum but, in the meantime, you can click here to check out the maps or contact my office to find out which electorate you are in. State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall will also be in attendance to hear about this important topic. Where: Lighthouse Community Church, Jetty Road, Brighton When: Tuesday 21 February 2017, 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm (afternoon tea is provided) RSVP: 8296 9833 or at bright@parliament.sa.gov.au Attending the forum is free, but there is the option to give a gold coin donation to Alzheimer’s Australia. Our last collection raised $238.15 for Surf Life Saving SA. I hope to see you there. David |
