The effects have varied considerably, ranging from minor disruptions to significant compromises to the scope of research, or to the extent of experimentation and/or validation that could be completed. While the University has, for many of you, extended the length of candidature to help compensate for any such effects, there remain some cases in which this has not fully compensated for the impact of the pandemic on the research undertaken. If your work has been compromised in this manner please discuss with your supervisors how best to deal with this when writing your thesis. If you have any questions about these issues please discuss these with your supervisors or your postgraduate coordinator, or contact the Adelaide Graduate Centre. I wish you all the best in your studies. Professor Michael Liebelt Tip of the Month: CaRST and Thesis Submission Getting ready to submit your thesis? Make sure CaRST is organised in advance to avoid potential pitfalls and delays. In the final stage of candidature, you’ll want to be focused on writing up, not chasing CaRST hours, and if you leave CaRST too late, there’s no guarantee the courses you want will be on offer at that time. We suggest keeping track of your activities as you go and not waiting to the very end to complete your hours. Remember, your thesis won’t be accepted by the Graduate Centre until all CaRST requirements are met. Virtual 3 Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition – Registrations now open! It can be used on research grant applications and as a means of linking all of your publications together, ensuring you get the credit for your own work. Researchers are also encouraged to login to Aurora to create a link between their ORCiD and Aurora as this enables automatic claiming of publication data associated with their ORCiD.
