Special Session Deal in the Works?

We're getting somewhere? Two weeks after the regular adjournment of the 2015 Legislative Session, Minnesota leaders appear to be closing in on a deal to complete the two-year budget. Read more >>

 





May Permit Numbers - Slow and Steady

For the third month in a row residential construction failed to beat the previous year’s numbers. Single-family permits were down 12 percent when compared to May 2014, while multi-family permits were down 15 percent from this time last year. Read more >>


BATC in the News

The Artisan Home Tour is making headlines! So far the Pioneer Press and the Star Tribune have previewed the tour, and tune into Fox 9 tomorrow morning to see M.A. Rosko at two Artisan Homes. Keep your eyes peeled for more, we have several additional interviews set up!

We're talking townhomes. The Star Tribune covered J.L. Schwieters donation of land to build Habitat for humanity townhomes in Hugo. BATC Executive Director David Siegel commented on how townhomes are a good fit for first-time buyers.

Industry Leaders Meet to Talk Workforce Development

A week ago, BATC called together leaders from more than 15 construction industry associations to talk about workforce development and the labor shortage facing our industry. This was the first of it's kind meeting and the group plans to continue to work together.
