So the dreaded virus has effectively wrecked the Lansdowne Season 2020 with the loss of both CRMC meetings to BSB and BTCC respectively and the others to lockdown. With the cancellation of the Revival there was nothing left but to look forward to 2021. However it seemed a pity to just give the season up completely and prompted by Stuart Tonge and others I have now arranged to join the CRMC at their Race of the Year at Pembrey over the weekend of September 26/27. We will have our own qualifying and the usual Race of the Year programme of two normal length and one longer race. Entry will be by the new CRMC online entry system - details to follow when the entry goes live. I realise some of you will have put your bikes to bed and may not want to get them out for one race meeting and the CRMC understands that we may not put a full grid out but are looking forward to hosting us. There may be a test day on the Friday and again I will email out details if and when. So why not come along and enjoy a gallop out on your Lansdowne bikes round a really good circuit enjoying the late September sun and balmy weather in Wales. Although there will be no Championships at stake there will awards and the CRMC will provide laurels for the four classes. Mick Grant has asked me to contact Lansdowner's to let them know that the Barry Sheene meeting will take place at Olivers Mount over the weekend of 14/15/16 of August and that there is a class (Classic 500cc four strokes to Dec 64) that Lansdowne bikes can enter. Obviously this will not be a Lansdowne race but is for our type of bikes. Email Hayley Colbrook at 243rra@gmail.com for details and entry forms. I know some of you are at the CRMC meeting at Cadwell Park next weekend and I look forward to meeting up with you - at a social distance of course
