TELL US WHAT YOU THINK

The Native Vegetation Council (NVC) is seeking the views of NVC eNews readers via a brief survey on the management of native vegetation in South Australia.

As you most likely know, the NVC works with the support of the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) and we are seeking input particularly from those that have had dealings with our processes and have experience with aspects of the Native Vegetation Act 1991.

All participants who volunteer their phone number or email address will go into the draw to win one of four signed copies of the hardcover book Mangroves to Mallee – The Complete Guide to the Vegetation of Temperate South Australia, by Todd Berkinshaw.

The information you give will remain confidential and assist both the NVC and DEWNR to measure our performance and understand what changes or improvements could be made to the way native vegetation is managed in South Australia.

There are 8 main questions in the survey that will take between 4-10 minutes to complete depending on the level of detail provided in answers.

Take this opportunity to have your say by completing the online form, or by posting or emailing your feedback to the questions as outlined at the ‘Have Your Say’ site of DEWNR.

Consultation closes: Monday 31 August 2015

WE ARE PROGRESSIVELY RENEWING

The Native Vegetation section of the DEWNR website is progressively being renewed.

There are many changes being prepared in layout, content, design and features. Some are being added once completed such as new information sheets, links, new contact information and enhanced functions.

A recent change is the introduction of interactive versions of four of our key application forms. These interactive versions have been loaded onto the website and replace the previous versions you may be familiar with.

The ‘look’ of the forms has not changed as yet, but the serviceability of them has. These versions can now be filled by the applicant online and easily emailed back to avoid the need for ‘print and fill, scan or copy’. The forms automated so far are:

Clearance for house site application

Heritage Agreement area application

Native vegetation clearance application

Protecting revegetation application

More updates to our website will follow but we will trial and then launch major changes and keep you informed.
