Message from the General Manager

Tēnā koe – hello.

As mentioned in the 3 September issue of the Choice Newsletter, Dame Patsy Reddy’s term as Governor-General will end on 28 September. Dame Cindy Kiro will take office on 21 October.

A transitional Choice video for playing at citizenship ceremonies is now available to download on the Public Sector Intranet. The video has been edited to remove the Governor-General's message.

Please use the transitional video from 29 September until we have filmed a message from Dame Cindy Kiro. The new video may be available in December.

On Friday 24 September, we emailed councils to ask for your feedback about an idea that a ruling might be made that no ceremonies would be held while a region is at Alert Level 2 or above. Feedback can be emailed to CitizenshipCeremonies@dia.govt.nz.
