Outbreak of algae
Toxic blue-green algae has been found at the duck ponds, Reg Tanna Park. Please avoid touching the water and keep away from the water's edge.
Play time made cooler
Playground areas at Boyne Island's Wyndham Park and Lions Park will be closed until November 11 while new shade structures are installed.
Name your hero now
Nominations for Council's 2016 Australia Day Awards close on Friday (Nov 6). Don't miss out on putting forward the name of your community hero.
Park tender awarded
Work on Miriam Vale's Alf Larson/Lions Park redevelopment will start in January. Council awarded a $4m tender this week.
Art workshop Saturday
This Saturday (Nov 7), artists will work towards creating a series of 'Pop Up Public Art' window displays across the region.
Noxious weed field day
Council will host a Giant Rat's Tail Grass and Class 2 Weed Field Day on Friday (Nov 6) at Taunton. Register your attendance on 4970 0700.
Young Achiever award
Nominate now for the 2016 Queensland Young Achiever Awards. Submissions are open to Gladstone Region residents up to 29 years of age.
