WELCOME TO ISSUE 93

Dear member

Happy New Year, which means to a lot of us in the bush, summer holidays are here and it’s time to dust off the togs and head to the beach.  If all is going well by the time you are reading this I will be dipping my toes in the Southern Ocean!

Summer holidays tend to be a riot of passage for us West Aussies and what’s not to love about them, the warm weather, crystal clear oceans and white beaches but most importantly the chance to unwind, relax and reconnect with family and friends.

Our family always head to the same spot each year, Bremer Bay, for our family it has something for everyone.  The MOTH (Man of the House) loves the fishing, kids love playing with other kids at the caravan park and me, I love the long walks along the beach and we all love the ocean.  The kids cruise around on their bikes and it’s just like when I was a kid, all the kids come out to play.  They have a common link, holidays and this seems to bond them together, creating special memories for the next generation.

It’s also a chance to reflex on the past year, get our head around and pumped up for the coming year.  We know and value these two precious weeks and even more so this year as we pack up our eldest daughter for the first time to send off to boarding school.   I’ve spent the past month sewing on name tags, writing lists and forever seem to be filling in forms!  But as January moves forward to February what an adventure we will all have this year, I can’t wait to see what surprises are in store for us as the year goes on.  I hope your families also have a great year with lots of special memories made and adventures along the way!

Take care,
Monica
