Know Injury has developed dedicated resource kits for each of the WA regions; including the Goldfields, Great Southern, Kimberley, Midwest, Pilbara, South West and Wheatbelt, to show the impact of injury on these areas and suggest ways to reduce this impact.

READ | Royal Perth Hospital Trauma Registry Reports

Royal Perth Hospital have recently produced three reports, summarising ten years of data regarding admissions to Royal Perth Hospital due to;

  • Domestic and family violence related injuries
  • Quad-bike related incidents
  • Sporting and recreational injuries.

Overall, the reports highlight that from 2010 to 2019, there has been an increase in the number of admissions to Royal Perth Hospital due to sporting or recreation activities, and domestic and family violence, however there has been a decrease in the number of admissions due to quad-bike related incidents.

Road Safety Week Resource Kit NOW AVAILABLE

The 2020 Road Safety Week Resource Kit by WA Local Government Association (WALGA) Roadwise is now available for download.

The Resource Kit provides information for how Local Governments and members of the road safety network can get involved in a road safety initiative as part of the National Road Safety Week in May.

World Trauma 2020, Australiasian Trauma Society UPDATE: POSTPONED

With a new date of 14-18 February 2021, a unique gathering of international trauma experts and societies will come together in Brisbane to discuss contemporary trauma-related topics, including the global burden of trauma, trauma care in rural and remote communities and recovery after major injury. Abstracts are due April 3!

New Report on Australian Sports Injury Hospitalisations

 A new report has shown that between 2016 and 2017, almost 60,000 people were hospitalised for sports injuries.

Males were more than twice as likely to be hospitalised than females.
