Sign up today! Run the Royal ParksWe still have a few spots left in one of the most popular runs in town – The Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon. This year the race takes place on 8 October and it's one of the most iconic and beautiful runs through the capital. Last year, Jill Walton and Martin Jeeves ran the 13.2 miles through six lovely London parks and past many of the capital's landmarks. Between them, they raised over £6,000 and we have two supporters signed up already in aid of Rare Dementia Support this year so join them and apply here before the other places get snapped up! New notelets for saleAs part of our new merchandise for sale to raise funds for RDS we have produced two sets of notelets by Dick Lingham. Following his diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia, Dick Lingham has found his creative outlet in painting and attends a supportive weekly art group. He has been experimenting and developing his individual technique for many years using watercolour, pastel, ink and bleach. Each pack has 10 cards of two designs with envelopes and are blank for your own greeting. Available from our online shop at £6 per pack. ‘What a Wonderful World’ (pictured above) Sepp the SeahorseSepp is a crocheted seahorse who has been intricately handmade alongside his baby by one of our regional RDS coordinators, Pauline Ross. She chose the seahorse design because of its Greek name – hippocampus – which is also the part of the brain that controls memory and so often affected by dementia. Sepp and his baby are available for £25 and are handmade to order. They are available in four colours – please note that orders will take 3-4 weeks to be completed. This item contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
