From the DirectorThe Bolch Judicial Institute is operating at full speed this summer. The judges in our Master of Judicial Studies Class of 2020 recently completed their second term in residence here at Duke. Our judge-students continue to produce outstanding scholarly work; in recognition of this scholarship, Duke Law's oldest law journal has devoted an entire edition to thesis papers by our MJS judges. We will soon be making admissions decisions for the next class and have received more applications this year than ever before. See more on the master's program below, as well as other highlights from recent weeks, including a recap of our spring program on law and technology, co-hosted by the Federal Judicial Center. We are also looking forward — to the summer edition of Judicature, which publishes next week; to a slate of excellent conferences later this year; and to the Appellate Judges Education Institute 2019 Summit, which takes place in Washington, D.C., this fall. I hope you will join us at an event, subscribe to Judicature or our email list, and continue to support our efforts to promote, protect, and advance the rule of law. Best wishes for a wonderful summer. —
