Greetings everyone. We hope you are keeping safe and staying well. We have a lot to cover in this edition. First, we are pleased to announce that we've been able to direct nearly $300,000 to fund new research designed to help support people with disabilities and their families and carers in the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones, The MDI Team Alongside our COVID-19 funding program, we are also providing an advisory touchpoint for researchers seeking input or advice from a small group of people with disability. Learn more about this effort here. COVID-19 Research Fund | Recipients Earlier this month we opened a funding stream to support interdisciplinary research projects that address an identified need, gap or deficiency in responses to COVID-19 which affect people with disability, their families and carers. Projects are designed to respond to the urgent and evolving nature of the pandemic by providing rapid evidence to inform policy of practice decisions. We received a lot of interest and are pleased to be able to share with you the 14 projects funded through this effort plus an additional 2 projects which were amended to address COVID-19. Victorian-based NDIS Participants: Researchers at the University of Melbourne would love to hear from Victorian based NDIS participants or plan nominees about their plan utilisation during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is part of a larger study that aims to help the Victorian government understand and improve how participants use their NDIS plans. The research team are hoping to interview Victorian based participants and plan nominees on-line (via Skype or Zoom) or over the telephone.
