Free Risk Management Workshops

2 CPD Points – Competency 1 – Practice Management

2 Hours – Law Mutual (WA) Risk Management Training

Law Mutual (WA) will be facilitating four interactive risk management workshops in May, as part of the Risk Management Seminar Programme 2019/2020.

Practitioners can earn 2 CPD Points and qualify for 2 hours of Risk Management Training towards the 2020/2021 Risk Management Discount* whilst providing valuable feedback to Law Mutual (WA) for the development of further risk management guidance and controls for the profession.

The 2019 workshops will focus on the general characteristics and address the requirements for effectively providing legal services and avoiding potential liability claims.

During the workshops, practitioners will consider examples of potential controls to meet the Matter Management Guidelines – Providing requirements and practical feedback will be sought in relation to how the control may be used and implemented in your practice.

The practical feedback and polling data captured at the workshops will form the basis of the development of the risk management presentation, Matter Management Guidelines – Providing.

The workshops will be held at the Law Society of Western Australia on the following dates:

Tuesday, 21 May 2019 | 9.00am – 11.00am

Friday, 24 May 2019 | 9.00am – 11.00am

Tuesday, 28 May 2019 | 12.00pm – 2.00pm

Wednesday, 29 May 2019 | 12.00pm – 2.00pm

*Risk Management Discount

There is no requirement to attend a Law Mutual (WA) risk management seminar. However, law practices will be able to obtain a 5% discount on their total Annual Contribution Amount for the 2019/2020 insurance year, if all of the partners or practitioner directors and at least 80% of the employed practitioners of the law practice have attended at least two (2) hours of Law Mutual (WA) approved risk management training in the period 1 March 2018 to 28 February 2019, subject to certain requirements of declaration and documentary evidence of attendance being produced upon request. 

Please note that some seminars are only available to certain categories of Practitioners.
