Last month, Derech Emunah hosted a Melava Malka for all the 7th and 8th-grade girls of greater Seattle. The night was full of entertaining activities and delicious food.
The focus of the evening was to give the girls who currently attend SHA, TDS, and MMSC an opportunity to get to know the Derech Emunah high school students in a relaxed setting.
They also experienced the warm and friendly social environment of our school, and how it would feel, (for example), during lunchtime.
The fun night began with a couple of games where everyone had a chance to meet each other, learn some unique facts about the other girls, and feel more comfortable in a social situation with high school students.
A competitive and exciting trivia game followed the ice breaker games.
The final event was an art project led by Mrs. Chubotin, Derech Emunah's art teacher, who is very devoted to her craft and work at the school.
Before going home, all participants received a beautiful, pink gold, personalized Derech Emunah travel mug with their name on it.
The evening was a wonderful time for our Derech Emunah students to begin developing a relationship with potential new DE students.
We enjoyed hosting all the girls who came to the Melava Malka and look forward to helping them acclimate to high school life should they choose to go to Derech Emunah.
