Meet the newest member of Chosen's family!
She is just one of the many reasons that Chosen exists! Her mother is a survivor and an overcomer, and gave us permission to share this picture with our friends. Just 3 weeks after her baby was born, she landed a job as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a local Assisted Living Facility! She doesn't care how early she has to get up to catch a bus or a ride for work - she is determined. In an effort to solve problems without creating new ones, we work together to make sound, lasting decisions that will affect her life in a positive way. Thanks to a community of change agents, she now has steady income. The child care that was once a barrier to her success is now in place, transportation is in place, and with your faithful prayers and support long-term housing will become a reality! Please pray for Christina, her baby girl, and her three-year old son. She needs constant reminders of how far God has brought her and that He will carry her through, but hey...don't we all need that once in a while, too?
Monthly Gatherings
Our monthly gatherings are great! We meet from 6pm-8pm once a month and have dinner together. Our Ministry Coordinator, Vivian, does an amazing job with facilitating some discussions! The conversations that are happening between our clients are priceless and several are asking about Jesus because of it!
Church Partners
It takes a community of people to run Chosen, and we are not only so grateful for you, but for our church partners. Diversity Church has sacrificed greatly to not only bring the idea of Chosen to fruition, but through their monthly financial support of what we do! SOMA Church sends us many volunteers who support us in mentoring, hospitality, child care, and financial support. Nehemiah Bible Church graciously hosts our monthly open houses-a time where clients and their mentors enjoy dinner together while their children are lovingly taken care of by a SOMA Church small group that is near and dear to our hearts.
