Dr. Neuberger Appointed NSC Associate Director Of Academic Programs
Dr. Lindsay Neuberger has been appointed as the Nicholson School of Communication's Associate Director of Academic Programs. This two-year appointment will commence beginning May 1, 2017. Congratulations Dr. Neuberger on your appointment.
Congratulatory Message Regarding Faculty Promotions
The Nicholson School of Communication is pleased to congratulate Dr. Lindsay Neuberger and Dr. Jennifer Sandoval who received letters from the Provost informing them of their promotion to the rank of associate professor (with tenure) pending final approval by the Board of Governors in May. In addition, the Nicholson School congratulates Ms. Lindsay Hudock who received her letter from Vice Provost Dooley informing her of her promotion to the rank of associate instructor beginning in August, 2017.

To all NSC faculty, this is a reminder that all syllabi submissions for Summer A and C are due on Monday, May 8 and syllabi submissions for Summer B are due on Monday, June 19.
Advanced Research, Measurement and Evaluation with Melissa Dodd

UCF Assistant Professor Melissa Dodd, APR, is leading a public relations program on Thursday, April 27. The program, titled "Advanced Research, Measurement, & Evaluation for PR Pros" will focus on PR research and the methods that can be used to measure and evaluate such research. The event will be held on Thursday, April 27. Registration is required.
RTV's First Annual Vid Fest -

Join the Nicholson School of Communications Radio Television department for the first annual RTV Vid Fest. The event will be held from 7 - 8 p.m. on Friday April 28, in the NSC Lobby. Screenings and awards will be given from 8 - 9 pm. Please RSVP to ebazan@knights.ucf.edu
Mandatory Research Training Attendance

All faculty and staff who have not yet attended a research training session should note that attendance to a research training session is mandatory. The next research training session will be held from 1 - 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5 in Harris Corporation Engineering Center (HEC) 101.
Eat, Study, Love Day - April 24
The Nicholson School of Communication wishes students the best of luck on finals. To show their support, NSC faculty and staff are hosting Eat, Study, Love Day, from 10 a.m to noon on Monday, April 24 in the NSC Atrium. Light breakfast foods and other refreshments will be served.
Distinguished Speaker Series - April 26
The College of Sciences is proud to introduce Charissa de Bekker, Ph.D. as the next speaker joining the university for the Distinguished Speaker Series. Dr. Bekker will introduce the audience to The Story of Zombie Ants: How fungal parasites control animal behavior. The event takes place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, at the Tuscawilla Country Club. To attend, please RSVP below.
Student Summer Job Opportunities
The First Star Central Florida Academy, a national college prep program for youth in foster care, is looking for students to fill positions for summer coordinators and youth coaches. The youth spend all four summers of high school living on the university campus (Summer Academy), and return one Saturday per month during the school year (Saturday Academies). While on campus, the youth attend academic classes, participate in life skills workshops, and explore life on a university campus. Movie Night with MSC: "Murderball" - April 21
Join the Multicultural Student Center from 12 - 3 p.m. on Friday, April 21in the Live Oak Ballroom/Garden Room for a viewing of "Murderball", an academy award winning film about wheelchair rugby, which highlights several disabilities and the many ways in which various obstacles can be overcome. After the documentary, there will be an engaging discussion with students and faculty, about the film. Light refreshments will be served.
Get Familiar with the Tech Fee Proposal Process
Technology Fee proposal season is here! One great way to become familiar with the process is to attend a Technology Fee workshop. The first of these is at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21 in Tech Commons I – 102. 2017 Financial Wellness Series
April is financial literacy month. In addition to the informational sessions provided to students to increase their financial literacy, the office of human resources is also hosting several sessions exclusively for faculty and staff. The annual UCF Financial Wellness Series (previously the Retirement and Investment Series) will be held from April 3 through April 27, 2017. Dates and information can be found in the calendar below.
Predictive Analytics Innovation Fellows Program
The Center for Higher Education Innovation in the Office of the President is pleased to announce competitive funding for a new Predictive Analytics Innovation Fellows program. Open to all full-time UCF faculty, this nine-month program offers a $5,000 stipend to faculty interested in using analytical data to explore campus trends and student success. Proposals should seek to use student data to advance student learning, success, retention, and graduation at UCF. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 28, 2017.
Joust New Business Venture Competition - April 21
The Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership is proud to host the Joust New Venture Competition on April 21 in the Pegasus Ballroom beginning at 3 p.m. The UCF Joust New Venture Competition is UCF's premier startup showcase event. It celebrates the entrepreneurial efforts of student starters across our campus, introduces them to community leaders, and provides key resources to help launch their ventures. The top four ventures will earn up to $75,000 in cash and essential business services provided by some of our regions most forward-thinking sponsors and donors.
