Do you look at how other people have done things before taking action? No images? Click here Dear subscriber What did you learn during lockdown? Tomorrow I'll learn about how to write a novel. HOW? In a mad moment to alleviate the boredom and satisfy my curiosity about what makes people tick I invited people to share their passions and talents in 18 minute talks. All the talks are recorded and published on Medium and there are more to come: Failing at being a rockstar, how to write novels, using less punctuation and being a legal alien are all lined up. WHY? When you share your passion you connect with people on a different level and its very attractive in a way that talking about business rarely is. People often say they're passionate about their business but no-one really cares because there's no connection. If you want to create a real connection and you've got something to share in an 18 minute talk I'd love to hear from you. People who have a passion for something are always interesting. Even if you don't share their passion, they way they talk about it brings them alive and that's fascinating because its like a window into their character. Ask someone to talk about their business and you're likely to get a bland marketing type speech, even if the reason they started their business was to pursue their passion. But when they drop the business talk they come alive and the passion lights them up. WHEN? The talks are delivered live on Zoom every Friday from 1.00 - 2.00. See what's coming up and how to join the audience at https://annhawkins.com/ed-talks/ I'm a bit stunned that Drive, the Partnership Network is five years old next week and that over 70 people will be joining us for the celebration. If you haven't seen the invitation yet here it is. You're welcome to join us! (Thanks to Richard Slade for the great badge!) Have your goals changed during the pandemic?A lot of people have been thinking about the things that really matter to them. Everyone who has lived through the past 12 months is irrevocably changed - and strangely, although its been painful, I think it will eventually prove to be for the better. If this is something you'd like to explore, just get in touch and we'll work out the details. The what, how, when etc., come after YES! The Next ChallengeDon't ask me how - all I know is I'm excited to see so many smart people working on making things better than they were before, and so many of us mere mortals doing our bit to help it along. More re-using, re-purposing and re-cycling. More ethical, eco friendly choices. Less consumerism, greed and corruption (maybe that one has a way to go yet ...) but overall there seems to be a push not to go back what we had before. Business Blog PostsMy most recent posts are:
MediumThis is where I write about things not directly connected to my businesses. Art, world events, jazz, gardening, and amazing people doing great things - oh, and an obituary to die for! As always, I'd love to know what you're doing, how you're faring, what's firing you up, what you're struggling with or what's making life worth living! Hit reply and let me know ... |
