What are we voting on?

You will be voting on whether you want to continue the U-Pass BC program with a few increases to the fee.

Essentially - if you want to continue to have the U-Pass you vote YES to the following question.

If you don't want to continue to have the U-Pass and go back to the regular 3-zone farecards, you vote NO to the following question.

"Are you in favour of authorizing the Douglas Students' Union to collect a fee of $35 per month of study for students eligible for the U-Pass BC Program beginning May 1, 2013, with an increase of the fee to $36.75 beginning May 1, 2014 and increase of the fee to $38 on May 1, 2015?"

Didn't we just get the U-Pass?

Yes, but the current U-Pass BC program will expire at the end of March 2013. In order to renew participation in the U-Pass BC program until 2015, students will need to vote to continue participation in the program. The timeline for the referendum is dependent on individual student association. Please contact your student association for more information regarding your referendum dates.
