BLBCA Newsletter, Spring 2018 No Images? Click here The Winter that really was WinterWe just finished, well nearly finished, one of the best winters that I can remember. That is, if you are a lover of powder snow and fantastic riding conditions. You have my sympathies if you had to spend most of your winter shovelling out driveways, sidewalks and didn’t get a chance to venture into BC’s amazing backcountry. I was fortunate to be able spend over eight weeks at a number of different lodges in the BLBCA system this winter. Terrain was spectacular, snowpack was consistently good and service provided by the operators was first notch. Don’t miss your chance to visit a BLBCA lodge soon. Feel free to contact me at any time. Her parents took a leap of faith and invested in the Amiskwi Lodge in the back of the Blaeberry Valley. Now, Lynch and her sister Izzy are producing a short documentary to show how the little lodge in the backcountry changed their lives. They also received a $40,000 grant to create a virtual reality 360 degree immersive look at a typical backcountry winter trip.
Dave Birnie, owner of Mistaya Lodge in the Canadian Rockies near the British Columbia/Alberta border north of Yoho National Park, discusses his passion for the remote wilderness. #unpluginBC & #myBCBackcountryFor more amazing pics & vids, check out the BLBCA’s social feeds.
