Proudly presented by BSB members Aria Property Group and The Fox Hotel, Fish Lane Festival invites you to drink, dance, and dine the day away in a celebration of South Brisbane’s most iconic laneway on Saturday May 7 from midday to 10pm.

Over the last few years, Fish Lane has undergone an exciting transformation to become one of Brisbane’s leading dining and drinking precincts.

Check out emerging local music acts across two stages; unwind with craft beer, cocktails and top-shelf wines; and sample signature dishes from celebrated local eateries. Click here for the festival program and map.

Paniyiri Festival celebrates 40 years of flavour!

Brisbane's much loved and famed Paniyiri Greek Festival is gearing up to celebrate 40 flavour-filled years over the weekend of May 21 and 22 - right here in South Brisbane!

Over four decades Paniyiri has grown to become Queensland’s signature celebration of all things Greek and the state’s largest cultural festival as well as the country’s longest running Greek festival – an admirable success story for the celebration that started in 1976 when a group of passionate Greek Australians wanted to share their cultural traditions with Brisbane. Fast forward to 2016 and this kaleidoscopic cultural explosion is now legendary with more than 60,000 expected to celebrate over the weekend of May 21 and 22.

Visit Musgrave Park, where more than 30 food stalls will celebrate all the regions and flavours of Greece, while on the stages, there’s the Honeypuff Eating Competition, Grape Stomping, Olive Eating and Pasta Eating.

The Connection

Depth Industries

Name and position?

Adam Collie, Business Development, Depth Offshore.

Tell us about your business/organisation?
Depth Offshore is an offshore outsourcing solutions firm which connects Australian business with our office in the Philippines. We facilitate recruitment and ongoing management of overseas based staff who can directly boost your business working in anything from IT and Accounting through to Administration and Graphic Design. We have found local SMEs to benefit the most with even 75-80% reduction in overhead costs while employing through Depth Offshore.

What is your role at your organisation?
My role as Business Development is to consult with clients and lend my expertise to make their personal experience with offshoring a positive one. We have the cumulative experience and wisdom of all our customers and can share this best practice with you so you can drive more business through your organisation.

How many people work at your business?
In Depth Industries we have about 15 people, some of which work in our Philippines office and are highly valued members of the team.

What is your favourite place in the precinct?
I think the return of the Brisbane letters (From the G20 summit) to the riverfront was a fantastic idea as tourists love it and it gives them a great opportunity for a beautiful photo in our city to share with the rest of the world on social media.

What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business?
Most businesses don’t know how much potential there is for Depth Offshore to help them. After initial consultations the most common response is “Wow, I didn’t realise that was possible” and “I didn’t realise there were other businesses doing that”. We want people to know we are here to help cultivate your organisations growth in ways that you didn’t realise were possible.

What is something people wouldn’t know about your business?
We practice what we preach and have our own overseas administration and IT support that helps our Australian team focus on doing what they do best within the Depth Group.

What has recently happened at your organisation?
Our Philippines team just moved into a new, bigger office due to increased demand and growth from our existing clients.

What do you hope to achieve in your industry?
We hope that by helping organisations with offshore support, that their Australian based team can have higher productivity and get the results for their team.

What inspires you?
The view from our office across the river towards the city gives me a boost every time I see it.

What are your words of wisdom?
“Learn from other people’s mistakes before you make them yourself” and I apply this everyday with Depth Offshore. On a daily basis we share with our clients what has and hasn’t worked for other businesses so that they can have a positive and seamless transition to utilising extra help from an offshore team.
