Issue 53 | 8 November 2017

A short while back, we headed to Social Media Week at the BFI Southbank in London. A busy few days, jam-packed with the best current thinking on all things social media. There were some mind-blowing stats thrown our way. For instance, we get through our mobile newsfeeds fast, scrolling every 1.7 seconds. We scroll the height of the Houses of Parliament each week. Content should be designed to be consumed in short ‘snackable’ bursts. Is yours?  And, as one of the speakers so rightly pointed out, everything we know about social is only true for the last six months or so. Everything changes so quickly, from the spec and running time of the videos we post, to the things people enjoy interacting with and sharing. You need to be flexible. Life comes at you pretty fast. Social comes at you even faster.
