Not only does carsharing make you sexier (as proved in our last newsletter), it also saves you money!

A study commissioned by City of Sydney reports that car sharing has more than tripled in Sydney over the past three years, easing traffic congestion, freeing up parking and saving residents $21 million a year.

It also reveals an estimated 6.4 per cent of households in the city are now members of car share with around 10,000 local residents and businesses.

The City of Sydney has just launched “The Good Hood” - an initiative to nurture sustainable living.

The Good Hood celebrates all the "Good" things happening all over the city -  in homes, schools, and on the way to work - to make Sydney more sustainable.

You can see what others are doing, and even better, share what you’re up to!  Just upload a photo of your efforts to recycle, reuse, grow, travel or live sustainably.

There are three cool prizes to be won – including $1000 worth of GoGet driving credits.

A few months ago, in partnership with Meals On Wheels, we launched GoGet Tuesdays.

This lets Meals On Wheels volunteers have access to a GoGet vehicle free of charge to make their deliveries if their own car isn’t available.  It’s also a way to let people who want to volunteer but don’t own cars lend a hand.

GoGet cars that live in carparks now have the parking passes attached to the car with a 'curly cord'. This is to prevent the card from falling down the side of the seat, never to be seen again!

Here are a few reminders when using the parking passes:

• Members must swipe the parking pass to enter and exit the carpark.
• Do not put the parking pass in the machine
• Do not take a ticket
• If the parking pass is missing or no longer attached to the cord, call us immediately on 1300 769 389

If you've recently noticed a slightly eccentric looking woman wandering the streets of Alexandria, don't be alarmed. It's just GoGet member (& former staff member!) Tanya Sobiesiak. She's been working non-stop for an upcoming exhibition titled: Line that Becomes Mass and Negative Space.

A number of her paintings were inspired by people watching in  Alexandria where her studio is located. 

The exhibition is at INDE Studios in Kippax Street, Surry Hills and runs from Oct 23rd to Nov 12th. The opening night is on Thursday 1st November from 6pm.
