Click here Vol 32 ǀ No. 29 ǀ 18 September 2019FROM THE PRINCIPAL–––––– There has been much debate in the media about the use of mobile phones (and other internet enabled devices) in schools. In Victoria, the Department of Education is set to ban the use of phones during the school day across the entire state by 2020. I had the pleasure of doing this with my two and half year old at home on Sunday afternoon and it prompted my thinking in several ways. The first being spontaneity. I was led and instructed by my daughter in a variety of ways, there was no set time limit, she enjoyed experimenting and being creative. Our work with the students is similar to this. Students take ownership, enjoy companionship and thrive on opportunities to demonstrate what they are truly capable of.
