Happy Summer Holidays! Bonnes vacances d'été!

CPF BC & Yukon Chapter Representatives,

This is your last CRU of the 2013-2014 school year. Have a great summer break!! Next CRU will come out in August 2014 with important information about this year's Membership Drive!

As always please forward this important information to your local chapter mailing lists, school contacts, local media, and partners. We encourage you to include additional stories and activities from your local chapter. One of the best ways to promote membership and recruit new volunteers is by effectively communicating the good work of our organization (at all levels) and the many resources available to support students and parents.

There is important information in every CRU so make sure you read them and pass the info on at your meetings!

À bientôt,

Kirsty Peterson,CPF BC & Yukon Outreach Officer (outreach@cpf.bc.ca)

Art Starts

Reminder: Apply for Artists in the Classroom Grants by May 30, 2014

Posted by ArtStarts on Friday May 9th, 2014

A reminder to schools and artists: applications for the Artists in the Classroom grant are due Friday, May 30, 2014.

Artists in the Classroom (AIC) grants support projects that put students in direct contact with a professional artist in residence in their classroom and aims to connect an art form and another subject area to meet evolving objectives in both.

AIC grants can fund up to 70% of total project costs (with the remaining 30% covered from other sources secured by the applicant including contributions from the school district, school, private sponsors and individual donations).

There are two levels of AIC grants available, which can fund:

Up to $3,500 for small to medium scale projects.
Up to $10,000 for large scale projects that unfold over an extended period of time and may involve multiple artists and engage the entire school. (Please note: a limited number of large scale grants are approved per year.)

There are two application intakes per year:

May 30, 2014 (for projects taking place between September 2014 and June 2015)
October 17, 2014 (for projects taking place between January and June 2015)

Please note that projects must be the result of a collaboration between artist(s) and educator(s), and the grant application must be submitted by the educator(s) involved.

Visit artstarts.com/aic to read the full program guidelines and to download an application form.
