Recent Elective Surgery Cancellation Announcement Recent Elective SurgeryCancellation AnnouncementOn Saturday 21st, Health Minister Roger Crook announced that due to the increasing numbers of Covid-19 cases in WA, hospitals would now be required to review all non-essential/urgent procedures. So what does this mean? If you have a procedure booked PRIVATELY at the Albany Day Hospital, please be advised that the GSSC team will contact you directly when we have more information on what these changes may be. If you are on the waitlist for a procedure in a PUBLIC hospital as a Category 1 or procedure clinically determined as 'Urgent' by your specialist, it is understood these will procedures will proceed as planned. At this stage, ALL Category 2 and 3 procedures will be reviewed to see what may be postponed until this crisis passes. Public patients will be contacted by their relevant hospital regarding any changes. Please be mindful that it will take time for administration and clinicians to review all patients on the waitlist for procedures across all relevant regional hospitals (Albany, Katanning and Esperance).
