Restricted burning

BURNING of garden refuse is prohibited for the remainder of the
Restricted Burning Period. These measures came into effect on 7 November. Extremely dry conditions have contributed to an increase in the reignition of fires and the threat to properties and our community.

Despite recent rainfall, all indicators suggest the risk will continue to
increase. All residents have free access to the Shire’s Waste Transfer Stations to dispose of green waste. We encourage residents to continue to minimise fuel loads using this method. For more information click here.

It will house Katharine Susannah Prichard Library, which is currently located on Scott Street in Greenmount and a modern community hall to replace Boya and Greenmount halls. Construction is due to begin in December. The $7.4million project is expected to take around 18 months to complete. Read more here.
