The Yanny/Laurel phenomenon is a great example of how people can listen to the same thing, but hear entirely different words. For example: ‘Royal Wedding’. Some hear ‘national celebration’, others hear ‘beer garden’. Another example: ‘FA Cup’. Some hear ‘unmissable match’, others hear ‘less of a queue at Tescos’. Let’s take a look at what we’ve been hearing, in the latest Sociable Folktales. And by the way, it’s definitely ‘Laurel’.
