War as They Knew It

Thank you to everyone who came out on a blustery evening to take part in the presentation - War as They Knew It – An intimate look at lives touched by global conflict - on November 5.

A big thank you to Ann Dechambeau who eloquently presented her grandmother's WWI autograph book signed by the many wounded soldiers she tended throughout the Great War.

A final and heartfelt thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion Joe Wynne Branch in Edson and the members who added greatly to the presentations by reading excerpts from both the autograph book and the WWII POW journal.

Anyone interested in viewing the autograph book or L.E. Turner's WWII prisoner of war journal, please visit www.gallowaystationmuseum.com

Santa at the Galloway Station Museum

December 6, 2014 (1:00-3:00pm)

Christmas is coming early to the Galloway as Santa will once again be gracing us with his presence on Dec. 6! Children will have the opportunity to have their pictures taken with Jolly Old Saint Nic and let him know what they would like for Christmas.

Join the museum staff for a day of crafts, goodies and holiday cheer.

Featured Artist: Geraldine Kowall

This month's featured artist is Geraldine Kowall from Peers, Alberta. Her classic, hand knitted sweaters add a cozy touch to the gift store. Geraldine says that she has always held a fascination for wool and knitting with wool. She originally developed her talent knitting for her children, but now that they've grown she is delighted to bring art and function together in the sweaters she knits for others. Now that winter has decided to grace us with it's presence, these snuggly coats are the perfect item to help keep the chill off.
