Get to know your camera. A beginners guide to Photography

Monday 2 March
Photographic terms can be confusing to start with, but this course has been designed to remove that confusion and help you to become confident in using your camera as it should be used. Anna-Mair Francis is a professional photographer with years of experience in teaching people to develop their photographic skills and helping them get the shot they've always wanted. 9.30am-12.30pm. Sunday Sessions launched at The Lounge, Amaroo Retreat

Marloo Theatre presents Alice in Wonderland

Follow Alice down the rabbit hole as a cast of over 80 performers lead you on a magical adventure around the town of Easingwold. This brand new version of the much loved story will come to life as part of Easingwold's Little Fest weekend and will transport audiences to the nonsensical world of wonderland. You'll join Hatters and Hares for tea, converse with Cats and Caterpillars and avoid the fearsome Queen of Hearts along a journey that just gets curiouser and curiouser.

KSP Writers' Centre - free Spooky Story Competition

Deadline to submit: Sunday 29 March
This free annual anthology competition for spooky stories is sponsored by the KSP Writers’ Centre and Little Black Dress Productions, and is open to WA authors only. There are cash prizes for both youth and adults, plus the opportunity to be published. Winners will be able to celebrate at a special spooky sundowner book launch in winter. Mundaring Folk n Blues Club - March music

Friday 20 March
This month, the Mundaring Folk 'n' Blues Club will continue its' presentation of live acoustic music, as it welcomes the award wiinning singer-songwriter Helen Townsend, accompanied by Shannon Smith on guitar/vocals. The duo has recently completed two regional tours of NSW and received West Australian Music Award for Album of the Year. With her original folk/country/blues songs, Helen has been recognised as an Emerging Artist of Note in the USA's "Australia Presentation". 

Also on the Bill; South-West resident and emerging artist Shane Thomas and the comedic and satirical A Capella quartet "Ball Point Penguins" who will be finalising a long established performance career at this year's Fairbridge Festival in April.

Mundaring Arts Centre - Current Exhibition

Gallery 1 & 2 - Homo Eclectic

Hans Arkeveld is one of WA’s foremost artists and sculptors. This retrospective exhibition documents his 50-plus year multi-disciplinary practice and long-term engagement with the University of Western Australia Anatomy Department, and draws on his passion for the machinations and form of the human body as well as social justice issues.

Bush Bounty exhibition at Mundaring District Museum

‘Bush Bounty’ explores the many ways people, past and present, encountered West Australian flora.  From food and medicine, to decoration on clothing and domestic items, this exhibition celebrates how the State’s extraordinary botanical diversity has been utilised in the everyday and commonplace.
