New Development: AFA Systems has updated the design of its MK-LSP Cartoner
AFA Systems has improved its design of the MK-LSP - Linear Servopack Autoload Cartoner. The system now features a gantry robot to accurately and gently side shift product into the loading funnels. The loading funnels feature servo side compression to ensure the product is confined during loading. This feature provides consistent loading when cartoning flexible products such as bags or pouches. The frame of the MK-LSP is more robust and features better access to provide high-efficiency on your production line. The system comes standard with an Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC and PanelView 1000 HMI screen.
Product Update: MK-LSP - Linear Servopack Autoload Cartoner
For this application, the MK-LSP cartoned small bags of cereal at 80 ppm. The MK-LSP's linear servo pack accepts and collates product from a single lane. Product following too closely before the servo pack rejects off the line. A gantry robot side shifts the bags out of the servo pack and into four (4) loading funnels. The loading funnel features top and side confinement of the small bags. Cartons are then end loaded the carton via a servo-driven pusher. The loading funnels actuate to the crease line of the carton to provide accurate loading. The system utilizes an Allen Bradley controls package and a robust frame for 24/7 operation.
AFA Certified Reconditioned Machine Program
AFA Systems can rebuild existing packaging machinery to help end-users gain fast lead times and cost savings. A recent example of AFA's recondition machine program involved reducing the frame of a cartoner in terms of length and retrofitting the cartoner to run small tubes of product at 100 ppm. The cartoner previously was running light bulbs at 300 ppm. The machine rebuild proved to be successful as the cartoner met the end user's required lead time and was able to fit into their tight floor space.
