Kookaburra Outdoor Cinema - January movies

Grab your picnic basket and blanket and head out to the Kookaburra Cinema for an evening of great entertainment under the stars.

Abseiling at Perth Observatory

Sunday 6 January
Need a bit of thrill in your life? Perth Observatory is teaming up with Spacechameleon Adventure Co to organise a family friendly event where you can abseil the Lowell Telescope Dome. Each participant will get 3 abseils through the dome's trap door and descend the full 20m in a controlled free fall to the ground. 12pm-2pm and 2.30pm-4.30pm. Nearer to Nature's - Sparkling summer - holiday activities

The Team at Nearer to Nature are back with a fun-packed summer school holiday program! Here's just a sample of the activities on offer this year:
Saturday 12 January - Nature photography for the family at John Forrest National Park.
4pm-6pm. Suitable ages 5+
Monday 14 January - *Big kids campout
3pm-10am. Suitable ages 7-11 years
Monday 21 January - *Creature feature
10am-11.30am. Suitable ages 4-7 years

Mundaring Weir Hotel - Sunday Sessions

The iconic Mundaring Weir Hotel provides the perfect laid-back atmosphere for a Sunday chill out. The traditional lamb spit roast is served every Sunday - carving and serving starts at around 1pm.

Mount Helena Tavern & Restaurant

The Historic Mount Helena Tavern was brought to life in 1902. The Tavern is a traditional Australiana-style pub with a country feel that appeals to families with its large beer garden and kids playground - perfect for relaxing through the lazy days of summer.

The FREE courtesy bus operates on Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm until midnight within a 10km radius of the hotel.  Bookings required for pick up - no need to book for drop off.

Monthly Markets will be back in February!

There will no markets this month. The Mundaring Rotary Club in partnership with Shire of Mundaring and Mundaring Community Bank Branch will be hosting a special Twilight market on Saturday 9 February and the Chidlow Hall Market Day will also be a Twilight market, which will be held on Saturday 16 February.

Mundaring District Museum - Made in Mundaring exhibition

Throughout January
his new temporary exhibition explores the many marvellous items that have been ‘Made in Mundaring’. From the granite slabs quarried at Mahogany Creek for the Perth GPO to the beautiful stained-glass windows made in Greenmount by Gowers & Brown, the range of building materials, foods, domestic objects, artworks, and inventions made locally is extraordinary. The labour and creativity of people in the past, and in the present, is acknowledged in the array of objects displayed, and in the stories of the individuals who made them. Museum open Mon-Sat 9.30am-4pm, Sun & public hols 10am-2.30pm.
