The Sapphires to Screen in Official Selection at Cannes

The highly anticipated Australian film The Sapphires, directed by Metro Screen Alumni Wayne Blair, has been invited to have its world premiere in Official Selection at the 65th Cannes Film Festival, the only Australian film to be selected in to the prestigious program. Wayne made his first two films with Metro Screen through the Lester Bostock Scheme.

Camera Essentials 2nd June

In this hands-on practical course, participants learn High Definition camera operating and lighting skills. Topics covered include framing, exposure, white balance as well as handling techniques, lighting set up and lay out and an overview of shooting formats. In order to maximise hands-on experience the course is limited to 12 places.

Final Cut Pro 7 Fundamentals 3rd – 17th June

Participants learn the fundamentals of editing techniques using Final Cut Pro 7, one of the world’s most popular and widely used professional editing software. Topics covered include basic set-up, preferences, capturing video and audio, editing and cutting techniques, audio editing, finishing, and exporting video. The course is run by a Metro Screen Apple Certified trainer and covers the first half of Apple’s Final Cut Pro 101 training syllabus.

This part time practical short course is designed for artists, producers and anyone interested in creating interactive digital media as a standalone project, or as part of a larger multiplatform project.
