Hispanic Heritage Month

September 15-October 15

Please join the Eberly College of Science, along with the university, in a variety of events to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

​We will be hosting an undergraduate research poster exhibition on Thursday, October 7 from 5–7 p.m. In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of our undergraduate researchers, the exhibition will also highlight the contributions of the college’s Latinx faculty.

Dr. Hayes-Bautista is the director of the Center for the Study of Latino Health and Culture at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.  He will address Latinx health and the mystery behind Latinx epidemiological outcomes.

Rojas Marquez is a medical student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and co-founder of Pre-Health Dreamers (PHD), a national organization that provides advising and resources to undocumented students who would like to pursue Medicine.

Dolores Huerta Day of Service: Own Your Health! Health Clinic and Fair

Learn about health resources on and off campus and participate in free noninvasive health and physical readiness assessments, HIV testing, lipid panels, COVID-19 vaccinations, hearing testing, and more (a current Penn State ID will be required for health assessments).

MCAT Registration Opening Examinee Webinar 

You are invited to join us for an MCAT Registration Opening webinar where we will provide more information about the 2022 testing year, what to expect on opening day, and MCAT preparation and premed resources.

Registration Opening for January and March-June 

The 2022 MCAT exam registration opening will be held on October 13 and 14. We will open registration for test centers in part of the United States and some international locations on October 13 at noon ET, and in all remaining test center locations on October 14 at noon ET. View the 2022 Testing Calendar.

  • Thursday, Oct. 7: Fall Open House (in-person) from 5 to 6 p.m. 
    This event will take place in the University Conference Center (Room 302A) in Hershey, Pa., but it may switch to a virtual format depending on COVID-19 guidelines. If so, a follow-up email with additional details will be sent to those who have registered. The in-person event is open to vaccinated individuals and masks are mandatory on campus. Free parking is available. Please RSVP before the close of business on Friday, Oct. 1.
  • Monday, Nov. 1: Fall Open House (virtual) from noon to 1 p.m.
    This event will be hosted via Zoom. Closer to the event, a follow-up email with additional details will be sent to those who have registered. Please RSVP before the close of business on Tuesday, Oct. 26.
  • Thursday, Dec. 2: Winter Open House (virtual) from 4 to 5 p.m.

 Fall Career Days Diversity Dialogues

A note from the Penn State Gender Equity Center--

Registration is now OPEN for our Fall Career Days Diversity Dialogues Employer Panel.  Our Diversity Dialogues Employer Panel is an opportunity for students to virtually connect with recruiters attending Fall Career Days. Students are encouraged to join this event and ask a panel of employers anything they'd like about diversity in the workplace.  Attendees will also have a chance to win a gift card to the Penn State Bookstore!   

Student Organization Challenge: If you are part of a student organization, you are encouraged to note that in your zoom registration, as you could win money for your organization!
