About the Course
The Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is a new online medium for course delivery and learning. It enables thousands of learners to participate in a single course, making use of high quality content and interactive learning tools. The scale of learning that MOOCs offer is unprecedented, and the opportunities they present for rich mentor-learner and learner-learner interactions are unlimited.
MOOCs are making headlines across industry publications and international media. Most recently, The Economist highlighted MOOCs as a key driver of revolutionary changes underway in higher education. The Wall Street Journal has pointed to MOOCs as a practical medium for rapid diffusion of in-demand skills and information.
This course explores key concepts, methods and practices in the MOOC paradigms. It is meant for both a non-technical and technical audience.
