Click here 17 September 2019 AGC e-NewsMessage from the Dean:Over the past three weeks I have been privileged to attend the finals and awards for the Visualise Your Thesis (VYT) and Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competitions. For VYT candidates prepare a 60 second animated presentation to describe the scope and impact of their research work, while for 3MT they must summarise their work in a single static slide accompanied by a 3 minute live presentation. Both competitions emphasise the importance of being able to concisely communicate the scope and purpose of sometimes very complex research projects, an increasingly important skill for research professionals. The standard of entries in both competition was extraordinarily high. Congratulations to the winners, Danusha Jayawardana (VYT) and Jessica Bohorquez (3MT) and all who entered and made it to the finals of the two competitions. Danusha can now compete in the international online VYT showcase while Jessica will be representing the University at the Asia-Pacific 3MT finals in Brisbane next month. Of course we wish them both great success. Thank you to the many people who put so much work into organising these completions and make them run so smoothly. Congratulations to Baden Gilbert, a PhD student in the School of Physical Sciences.
