Latest Update...

Period 23rd March - 6th April 2020

H.H.Smith, the main contractor for the project, are continuing with construction activities as planned. They have implemented a number of measures aimed at managing the risk of COVID-19. They continue to monitor the situation and act on government advice.

Last week saw the completion of the first-floor slab, the concrete pour for the ground-floor level and the sealing of column encasements at ground level, important in increasing the buildings overall energy efficiency.

The installation of the structural roof decking is underway and will continue through this week. It is hoped that the upper-roof will be watertight by Friday 27th March.

Please be aware: The pathway between FASS and the Chemistry building will close from first thing 23rd March for the duration of the project. Access to the Chemistry building will be maintained from John Creed Avenue but from the Spine will be via the Faraday Complex. The diversion will be signposted.

3 further concrete pours are required to create the atrium slab (which abuts the existing FASS building), and the remaining plant room slabs.

Although there may be some noise on site over the coming period, we do not envisage this to exceed current noise levels

Campus Developments

A University Campus takes a great amount of maintenance and investment to keep it looking its best, attracting staff and students to come to Lancaster. Our campus development video captures some of the major investment in estates development and gives an insight in to each project in a 3D animation.
