Your world-class Calgary Chamber

Your world-class Calgary Chamber

The Oscars for chambers of commerce, the World Chambers Competition, is the only global awards program to recognize the most innovative projects undertaken by chambers around the world.

Dozens of countries submitted projects for consideration and we are proud to announce that your Calgary Chamber is one of four finalists in the Best Unconventional Project category.

This category recognizes an exceptional project not typically associated with a chamber of commerce's mission and objectives. We are honoured to be representing the Calgary business community on the world stage for our work in post-flood recovery and business continuity.

The campaign features a cross-section of senior business leaders from our membership, illustrating how the Chamber helps them. You can see these advertisements on Pattison billboards, transit ads and elevator ads throughout downtown. Commercials are running on CBC during prime news broadcasts as well as during the Stanley Cup playoffs. And of course we are all over Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google and YouTube!

Happy birthday to us!

Happy birthday to us!

On May 2, 1891, 46 businesses met around one mission: to “advance commercial, industrial and civic interests and promote integrity and good faith in business.” That day, we officially became your Calgary Chamber of Commerce.

124 years later, that founding principle remains our driving force, and we are excited to continue our unwavering dedication to the growth and success of the Calgary business community.

Healthy workplaces breakfast workshop: Where mental health and the workplace intersect

Healthy workplaces breakfast workshop: Where mental health and the workplace intersect

Wednesday, May 6, 2015
7:30 am – 10:00 am

Calgary Petroleum Club
319 5th Avenue SW

Most employers know that a workforce with good mental health is linked to lower medical costs, as well as less absenteeism and presenteeism. And, most employers also know that a mentally unhealthy workforce is associated with increased loss of productivity.

What employers may not know, however, is how to get from A to B:  How to change a mentally unhealthy workplace – or a marginally healthy one – to a healthy workplace. Where to start?

Join CMHA in partnership with the Calgary Chamber for a workshop on building socially supportive work environments for employees working through mental health challenges.
