Conference delegates were not disappointed with either the venue or the conference line-up.From a star-filled dinner under the African sky at the Lion’s Den Lapa, to a festive Shebeen evening and a Gala Dinner to honour a successful year, a great time was had by all.A diverse range of topics were covered across the four-day conference, with a strong focus placed on ambitions to enhance properties of rubber compounds and the recycling of rubber tyres.![]()
SUCCESS IS THE WAY FORWARD
![]() The best international presentation award was received by Kai Poh Ho from Performance Additives who spoke in detail on the enhancement of rubber processing. Dr Lukas Oosthuizen from Karbochem spoke on the chemistry and tailoring of polybutadiene rubber and was honoured with the best local presentation award. The conference also included 7 short presentations from current NMMU rubber technology students which effectively demonstrated the excellent standard of research that is being carried out in South Africa’s third level institutions. A very prosperous sign for the future of rubber compounding. |
