EUPAVE releases new position paper “Tendering for sustainable infrastructure in the circular economy”

At the occasion of its Breakfast Debate on Wednesday 17 October, EUPAVE realeased its latest position paper “Tendering for sustainable infrastructure in the circular economy“.

EUPAVE is convinced that new public procurement and green procurement rules can become a ‘game changer’ in awarding public contracts and making circular economy a reality.

Programme of ACPA / ISCP Webinar series 2018-2019 online

The International Society for Concrete Pavements (ISCP) and the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) will conduct 2 webinar series in English and Spanish between October 2018 and August 2019.

There will be 8 sessions, one each month from October 25, 2018 to August 22, 2019 (Skip November 2018, January and July 2019). Each session is 90 minutes with two speakers on the scheduled Thursday of the month.

Fruitful discussion at EUPAVE Breakfast Debate “Tendering for sustainable construction in the circular economy”

On Wednesday 17 October EUPAVE and MEP Marc Tarabella held a Breakfast Debate on “Tendering for sustainable construction in the circular economy” at the European Parliament.

MEP Marc Tarabella, Member of the European Parliament, and Mr. Stéphane Nicoud, President of EUPAVE, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of local authorities in tenders.

Mr. Manu Diependaele, consultant at KPMD (Infrastructure and Transportation Consultancy) gave a presentation on "Life cycle cost analysis of pavements as a fundamental tool for public authorities". Mr. Pieter de Winne, Head of Road Engineering Division at the Flemish Agency for Roads and Traffic talked about "the choice for a sustainable pavement". Mr. Antonio Paparella, Senior Expert and Team Coordinator - Sustainable Construction at DG GROW explained "the challenges and opportunities for using Life Cycle Costing in public procurement: the EU perspective". 

Closing remarks were given by MEP Peter Kouroumbashev.

The event was also the occasion to release EUPAVE’s latest position paper on “Tendering for sustainable construction in the circular economy”.
