Please provide a program/timetable and booking receipt as evidence. NewsPronouncing Scientific English: Identifying and Addressing Your Personal Challenges Struggle with scientific jargon? Perplexed by complicated pronunciation? Then this is the workshop for you! Join Margaret Cargill in an afternoon session focusing on phonetic alphabet use, tips for making your own spoken exercises, and guidelines on where to put emphasis on syllables. Bring 2 slides from a recent presentation on a printed sheet - this will be used to identify your individual challenges and solutions. Christmas Closure The Adelaide Graduate Centre will be closed from 12-3pm on Tuesday 17 December for a private function. Following this, we will break for Christmas on Tuesday 24 December at 12pm, reopening at 9am on Thursday 2 January 2020. We encourage students planning on submitting their thesis before the end of the year to submit as soon as possible, noting that we will be unable to accept submissions on the afternoon of Tuesday 17 December, or on the morning of 24 December. Pitch it Clever Universities Australia’s annual Pitch it Clever competition invites early career researchers to showcase their skills as brilliant research communicators. Entrants create a one-to-two minute video that clearly explains their research , why it matters and how it can be applied. The winner of the Vice-Chancellor Award receives a $3,000 cash prize and the one-week internship with The Conversation at their Melbourne headquarters. Applications close at 11pm on 24 January 2020. Apply Now The Industry Engaged PhD (IEP) Program and Scholarship IEP scholarships are now available to support eligible domestic and international students who undertake an industry placement. The University of Adelaide’s Industry Engaged PhD (IEP) program involves participation in an industry placement of 1-3 months (FTE) in duration, together with the completion of a number of Career and Research Skills Training (CaRST) and other professional development activities. Completion of the IEP, including the compulsory CaRST credit courses, will be reflected as a statement on the academic transcript.
