Pilot Study Investigates Internet-Based CBT in Hypersexual Men
A newly-developed approach to internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) received favorable ratings from men with hypersexual disorder with and without paraphilia(s).
A recent pilot study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine involved 36 men in Sweden. All of the men were considered to have hypersexual disorder, and 25 had at least one paraphilia.
After the 10-module program, the men had improvements in hypersexual symptoms, paraphilic symptoms, sexual compulsivity and psychiatric well-being.
