Greg's Message

Dear Parents and Friends of St Anne’s
Once again our school community responded superbly to the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. Three large boxes and 6 bags of clothing were donated; as well as 5 large boxes of food, 2 large boxes of toiletries and one bag of toiletries. The items will greatly assist families in need. Thank you everyone for your wonderful support. By now all parents and students would have received the semester one student reports. The reports provide an accurate gauge of student progress and I thank the teachers for their significant efforts in formulating them. As term two draws to a close I’d like to thank the staff for their tireless work this semester. Congratulations to all students for the growth you have made. Special thanks to the families for their support of their loved ones and the school. Term two highlights include:

  • school photo day
  • open days
  • cross country
  • interschool sport
  • First Eucharist celebrations
  • Confirmation commitment mass
  • Mothers day stall
  • excellent learning and teaching
  • excellent remote learning and teaching

St Anne's Primary School 90th Anniversary Cookbook

St Anne's Primary School 90th Anniversary Cookbook - Recipe Submissions
2021 marks the 90th Anniversary of St Anne's Primary School which was opened in February 1931 by the Josephite Sisters.

As part of this celebration we are putting together a cookbook of family favourite recipes, with contributions from the St Anne's Community, to celebrate 90 years of St Anne's.

If you have a favourite recipe, please send through the list of Ingredients, Method and any special notes or tips, along with a photo of the finished product to paf@sannkewe.catholic.edu.au or drop a copy in to the School Office. Please include your name and year of attendance at St Anne's (whether past, present or future! student, parent or teacher).

We would also love some photos and stories of St Anne’s over the years to include in the recipe book, so please share this post with your neighbours, friends and family.

We look forward to receiving your delicious recipes and memories of St Anne’s over the last 90 years.

Science and Space Expo

Congratulations to all the students in Years 4/5/6 for a fantastic space expo.  The expo was the culmination of all the great work the 4/5/6's had learnt this semester on space and the universe.

The younger students enjoyed visiting the expo and listening to the various presentations. Well done senior teachers and students.

Casper P Science project

I made a rocket and then got my lego from home and made a launchpad for it.

I got a platform and put the rocket on it and found out how high it needed to be and built it up. I made the nose holder and two other grabers on the side and put some detail on it.

The launchpad that I already made for it broke so I had to make a sturdier one and it works really well!!!

Student Wellbeing

As part our continued professional development at St. Anne’s, we take part in the School Improvement Learning Collaborative (SILC), with other schools from the eastern region. This has been facilitated by Dr. Lyn Sharratt, who is a highly accomplished practitioner, researcher, author, and presenter. Lyn is Canadian, and works all over the world with schools to support them in improving student outcomes through effective teaching and learning.

As a school, we have been part of this learning collaborative for 3 years, and have since implemented some very successful changes, as evidenced by assessment data we continuously collect. In our most recent meeting with Lyn and other schools in our region in May 2021, we were very proud to hear her announce that the work we are doing at St. Anne’s has been a model that she has taken all over the world! Here is a snippet of what she said about us:

‘I just want you to know that your slide (which demonstrates how we use data, student intervention, evidence based teaching practices) has gone all over the globe with me. I’ve used this slide and I’ve said, ‘Look at how everything sits together.’ ‘So everybody goes, “Oh wow! Oh look at that!” So you need to know that that’s the exact slide I use.’
Lyn Sharratt

We continue to put the learning outcomes of our students first, and it has been rewarding to be acknowledged for the work we do by Dr. Lynn Sharratt.
