Reflection

Lord, I want to be responsible for my own life, and I want to make positive choices each day. Inspire me to get my priorities right and be generous in my care and concern for others. In busy days and casual days remind me, too, of my basic human need for personal time and quiet and space, and lead me to respect the personal needs that others also have.

Greg's Message

Dear Parents and Friends of St Anne’s
It was great to have our students and full staff returning to school. The excitement of the students was palpable. Once again well done to our students, staff and parents on your superb efforts during this recent round of remote learning. The amount and quality of online teaching has been amazing. I have heard of many schools where the teachers have only met the students daily  for a short google meet; with no online teaching occurring. This is poles apart from what has been occurring at St Anne’s, where our staff have continued to commit to meet student outcomes and look after the wellbeing of the students.  Acting on current government advice, parents/guardians are requested not to enter the school grounds. If you need to “drop off” or collect your child please come to the school office. Finally, I’m sure that many of you have been enjoying the Olympic Games - they are a welcome attraction at this point in time.

Athletics Trials
Tomorrow all of our students from Years 3-6 will be involved in an athletics trial at Box Hill Athletics Track. Data from these trials will be used to select a team for the North Balwyn District athletics carnival on September 6. Parents please sign and return the permission note which was placed on the Skoolbag app yesterday.

School Fees

The 2nd instalment of school fees are now overdue and we would appreciate payment as soon as possible.

LEARNING AND TEACHING

Discovery Dome
Our planned July 29 Discovery Dome session has been rescheduled to August 17 (during National Science Week.) Unfortunately due to current restrictions families won’t be able to attend the sessions. The sessions will be held during class time.

Author’s Visit
On Thursday 5th August author/illustrator,  Lucinda Gifford,  will be talking and reading to our children. Each year we invite an author to our school to share their work and we look forward to Lucinda’s presentation.

Religious Education

CONFIRMATION
Due to current restrictions the date and venue for Confirmation has been changed. This year’s candidates (and some from last year) will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday 26 August at 6pm. Confirmation will be held at St Bede’s Church. Having Confirmation at St Bede’s allows families to bring along a maximum of 6 people (including the candidate.) Given the existing circumstances, this number wouldn’t be possible at St Anne’s Church. We look forward to a spirit-filled evening. A reflection day for current year 6 students will be held at our school on August 12.

Calling all Junior Yarras for season 2021/22!

Cricket season is fast approaching and we're working hard behind the scenes to provide all our young stars the best possible junior program for season 2021/22.

In what promises to be another fun filled summer at Bulleen Park, we kindly ask all Junior players and parents to complete the above 2 minute survey in helping us deliver our junior program for season 2021/22.

In building on our strong 2020/21 junior program which saw us boast 4 junior sides, we are excited to announce that we will be launching all girls cricket for the first time at the Yarras, with an all girls team to play on Wednesday nights throughout the season.

Registration details for season 2021/22 will also be coming soon so keep your eyes peeled and get ready for another season of cricket at the Yarras!

Within the survey, you will also find the option to register your child for 2 pre-season sessions to be held on August 29and September 5 at Maddocks Sports.
