Dear member,

It's been another action-packed month for social impact and for SIAA. We're very pleased to welcome several new members from Austria, Ireland and the United States in to our growing network.

We're working on a new resource centre which will aggregate useful case studies and reports. In the meantime, new resources online include:

• Notes from a SIAA event on voluntary and community sector impact measurement in London;
• 'Demonstrating Impact: Current practice among social purpose oraganisations in the Republic of Ireland', a new report by SIAA member Sandra Velthuis, published by The Wheel Ireland;
• German impact consultancy PHINEO's assessment method.

Highlights from the SIAA blog include:

• A two-part article on why impact matters to funders and tips on how to engage with them by SIAA member Meredith Niles of the Impetus Trust;
• Reports from SOCAP's Designing the Future conference in Malmö, Sweden and from ARVAC's annual lecture on impact in London on SIAA's blog.

Keep an eye out for upcoming events on impact, including SIAA and HACT's invitation-only roundtable on Evidencing housing providers' social value, Thursday 7 June, London. Events in New York, London and Budapest to be announced soon!

Finally, a reminder that SIAA's impact mentoring pilot scheme is now live. Please contact us if you'd like to be mentored or to mentor a SIAA member.

McKinsey New York held a webinar panel and Q&A to launch a report on 'From Potential to Action: Bringing social impact bonds to the US'.

SIAA members Nexii are holding a series of free webinars on Understanding Social Return on Investment for social investors.

In the UK, a new £10 million investment readiness fund was launched to enable social ventures to access new forms of investment and compete for public service contracts.

As a Senior Programme Manager at the European Fund for the Balkans, Igor Bandovic is involved in the evaluation of Fund programmes which affect stakeholders in the region of Western Balkans.

Part of his role is the analysis of the methods used to foster pro-european constituencies in the region through capacity building programmes for think tanks, research organisations and leadership development programmes.

The fund operates in the Western Balkans including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and in the European Union in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Slovakia.
