AAMC 2021 Fee Assistance Program

The AAMC Fee Assistance Program provides financial assistance to individuals who, without this aid, would find it difficult to take the MCAT, apply to medical schools that use AMCAS, and fulfill other application obligations.

You may also apply for fee assistance if you are applying to D.O. schools as this program covers MCAT costs.  You should apply separately for the AACOMAS fee assistance program to cover application costs.

Opens February 8, 2021

Early Assurance Programs for Prehealth students interested in medicine, dentistry, or optometry:

If spring 2021 is your 4th semester attending University Park, you are a sophomore focused on a career in medicine, dentistry or optometry and strongly committed to attending one of these …

1] Penn State College of Medicine at Hershey

OR

2] Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM)

OR

3] Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry

… read on because you may be eligible for an Early Admission Program (EAP) opportunity.

Please note, this is not an accelerated program of study, but solely a review for possible admission one year ahead of the normal time frame.  Highly qualified applicants in the Eberly College of Science will have taken their first two years of coursework via University Park (U.P.).

Covid19:  If for reasons of covid19, your U.P. courses in 2020 and 2021 include course delivery through the temporary, PSU multi-campus opportunity, this will not compromise eligibility.

Successful completion of the B.S. and MCAT/ DAT/ OAT are required.  An early acceptance to Hershey or Salus PCO via the EAP precludes you from applying to any other medical or optometry schools, respectively, without first rescinding the assured admission.

Minimum GPA to apply:  For Hershey EAP is 3.60; for both Rutgers and Salus EAP is 3.50.

These GPA benchmarks are firm.

To request program eligibility details and the simple application packet, email to Dr. Markle at ram29@psu.edu in which you provide:

1) subject line:  EAP (name the school);

2)  which one of these EAP opportunities is of interest;

3)  your PSU #id and ECoS intended major.
