EAU Guidelines Linked to Better Survival in Men with Penile Cancer
While the European Association of Urology (EAU) has issued guidelines for the treatment of penile cancer, they are followed only 25% of the time, research shows.
Findings presented at the annual EAU Congress in Denmark last March focused on guideline adherence for surgery and lymphadenectomy.
Researchers retrospectively analyzed the records of 425 men who underwent surgery to treat penile cancer between 2010 and 2016.
Following EAU guidelines was linked to better survival, the researchers found.
More details on the study, including the authors' recommendations, are available here.
