We wanted to get in touch and help you get ready for your Creative Arts and Media journey - with aspirational statistics from your chosen sector, information about the many opportunities available to you at College, and details of some preparations you can make for College life. - The Creative industry is one of the fastest growing in the UK, having grown more than 50% since 2011 and employing over 2 million people
- To work in this sector, you will need to be creative and passionate about your chosen career
- Working hours and environments can vary depending on your role
There are many exciting roles and career opportunities within the Creative sector. These include:

- Art Therapist
- Exhibition Designer
- Game Designer

Before you start in September, you should try to:
- Read up on your course
- Research your chosen subject
- Look up the types of careers you may want to do
- Find out more about the College’s designated Careers Zone - getting you ready for your future
- Think about if you need any materials or equipment for your course - if you need more information let us know
- What kind of extracurricular activities might you be interested in at College - you can view our extracurricular guide online and sign up at enrolment
Think about any questions you might want to ask your tutor at your New Student Event.
Students on this course are supported with external career-relevant guest speakers, opportunities for collaborative projects, and trips and visits – a recent example being during Industry Careers Day with a visit to In-Situ, a Pendle arts organization that creates art that makes a positive difference to everyday lives.
Oliver Ridehalgh achieved Triple Distinction* in Creative Digital Media and now studies Filmmaking at Leeds Beckett University.
