Chamber helps your business with wins in today’s Federal budget

Chamber helps your business with wins in today’s Federal budget

Earlier this afternoon Minister of Finance Bill Morneau tabled the 2016-2017 federal budget and we are pleased to see almost all of the ideas we advocated when we met with the minister, and in our federal pre-budget submission, included.

With a focus on strengthening Canada's long-term economic potential we saw an ambitious infrastructure program, investments in post-secondary to ensure a competitive workforce, a focus on innovation, and an expansion of tax supports and funding for business that invest in clean energy.

But these promises come as a result of a $29.4 billion deficit and some additional costs to business. We will need to ensure that these investments drive the kind of growth required to pay that debt off.

Watch our Director of Policy Justin Smith break it down further.

Digital tip: Every business should have a newsletter

Digital tip: Every business should have a newsletter

A mailing list can be your business' most valuable digital tool. Done right, it can be used to drive leads, get repeat clients and help you be seen as an authority in your field. Unlike social media platforms, which are full of millions of people vying for attention all at the same time, a mailing list hits people where they usually spend even more time and focus - their inbox. And they read emails one at a time.

Even if a potential client isn't in need of your product or services right away, if you pop up in their inbox on a consistent basis with information they love and want, you'll be the first person they come to when that need arises.

Use this handy to guide to formulate an effective newsletter strategy for your business.
