Calling for PWI AmbassadorsFollowing last month's piece about growing together online, the PWI is calling for Ambassadors from our community to help raise our national profile. As part of our objective to engage with professionals newly entering the UK rail industry, it is important to us that we support those early career stages where additional learning, networking and guidance are invaluable. We know that our members value the benefits we provide, but spreading this messages to non-members can be a challenge, especially to the many engineers facing time restraints within their role. PWI Ambassadors can be instrumental to overcoming this challenge, but what does this entail? It means volunteering to proactively champion our institution within your own personal and professional engineering network; engaging with the PWI on social media if you use it, talking about membership benefits to your friends and colleagues, and attending our events and getting involved as much as possible. It could even mean looking out for a younger career professional and taking them under your wing, encouraging them to join us, and sharing our newsletter and journal with non members to show them what they're missing out on. In a nutshell, it means consciously singing our praises from your heart at any opportunity! If you'd like to volunteer or discuss becoming a PWI Ambassador, please email michelle.mabbett@thepwi.org and we will happily issue you with your own PWI email address if you require.
